An electrode used as a reference for measuring the potential of various electrodes. The electrode to be measured and the reference electrode to which the exact value of the electrode potential is known are formed into a cell, and the electromotive force of the cell is measured, then the electrode potential of the measured electrode can be calculated. The reference electrode must be a single reversible electrode reaction
